Camp at night

What is the most peaceful non-intrusive way to see orcas in the wild? Wildcoast's Orca Camp located next to the Michael Biggs Robson Bight Ecological Reserve in Johnstone Strait - a sanctuary for killer whales. This is the premier spot for viewing Orcas and kayaking in their playground. Both resident and transient Orca pods frequent this area. This is a top bucket list adventure for adventure travellers from around the world.

Every day you will go kayaking in waters deemed a critical habitat for killer whales. Whether you are up early watching for orcas from the beach or heading out for a sunset paddle, there is no better way to escape life's everyday stresses than to spend time sea kayaking in the British Columbia wilderness.

The whale population has been consistent in and around Johnstone Strait for many generations. Given increasing threats to their existence, there is no better time than now to book this 'bucket list' trip.

Wildlife is in abundance as the Islands and the surrounding ocean are home to sea lions, seals, pacific white sided dolphins, otters, colorful birds and some of the largest starfish and clams in the world. Playful seals and seal pups often approach your sea kayaks. If you are very lucky, you may even get to see transient Orcas or Humpback Whales who have also been spotted during this trip.

The Discovery Islands tour launches from breathtaking Rebecca Spit Provincial Park located in Quadra Island's Heriot Bay. Kayakers enjoy paddling the myriad of channels, bays, coves, points and passages and setting up camp at a different location each day.
